Twins with different hearts - Alfa Romeo MiTo

Putting two of them in the same location, each shimmering with such vibrant colours, naturally invigorates their surrounding environment - no matter how dreary or dull. Their inviting and frisky exterior aesthetic is echoed in the interior, which manages to retain the consistent and iconic Alfa Romeo design language. And while identical in bodywork, their fundamental differences are found within the confines of the engine bay. Both are armed with differing yet spunky 1.4 litre motors, using forced induction to increase power and torque outputs.

Our friend @vinny_g93 boasts the Bianco Spino Quadrifoglio Verde, with the MultiAir engine option equipped. An Alfisti from birth, this model is one of several he has owned throughout the years. He is such an advocate for these addictive pocket rockets, that after his previous MiTo was prematurely written-off, he immediately began looking for its replacement... finally selecting the one seen above (minus a few of his personal modifications).

The Giallo Corsa example belongs to @stefano_pillin, an undisputed Alfa Romeo and Fiat expert technician of @arttuning_sa. The T-Jet motor, common throughout the Fiat and Alfa Romeo range, seems to be more responsive and lively in the light bodied MITO, according to his own account. Both of the featured MiTo’s include a handful of mild performance improvements, focusing on the induction and exhaust apparatus, which not only increases performance but also improves the audible experience too.

The result in both versions is performance appropriately matched to the peppy and beefy looking exterior, keeping in mind that many of the styling cues are referenced from the flawlessly proportioned, high-performance 8C Competizione.
